Salmon Wars | If We Want To Eat Fish, We Need To Farm It

How important is salmon farming to British Columbia? This is the essential question facing Premier John Horgan and his NDP provincial government, as it reviews 20 fish-farm tenures located in the Broughton Archipelago off North Eastern Vancouver Island. These tenures are up for renewal and a decision is imminent.

There are serious issues certain to have an impact on the decision: disease, sea lice, fish escape and other options, if any, to replace marine-based open-net pens.

In the final episode of our RegWatch special series “Salmon Wars” we put these issues to the industry so viewers could hear what the BC Salmon Farmers Association has to say—only on RegWatch by RegulatorWatch.com
