Tempting Progress | U.S. Vaping Industry Nurtures Wins & Ponders Losses | RegWatch

With the deadline for PMTA submissions for synthetic nicotine products now closed, the U.S. vaping industry is again held hostage to FDA’s plodding regulatory review process and closed mind regarding the authorization of nicotine vapes.

FDA’s track record is dismal, issuing Marketing Denial Orders for millions of existing products and refusing to allow non-tobacco flavors. Is there any reason to believe the agency might approve synthetic nicotine products?

Joining us today to discuss the state of the U.S. vaping industry and ongoing efforts to work with the FDA is Tony Abboud, Executive Director of the Vapor Technology Association.

  1. The FDA needs to understand that for the majority of adults it is flavours that help them quit smoking. I know when I started I could only get tobacco flavours or menthol and thay did not help me quit, I managed to reduce my smoking but could not quit. When I got access to flavours that was a game changer for me, I quit very quickly and became a flavour chaser in my vaping style, that meant I quit very easily.
