New $9.5M fire response facility announced

The future of fighting forest fires looks good.

Minister of Natural Resources and Forestry Bill Mauro announced Monday afternoon the province is investing $9.5 million to build a new state-of-the-art forest fire response facility in North Bay.

The new 1,149-square-metre build will be located on Voodoo Crescent, off Airport Road. The ministry’s current location is off Trout Lake Road adjacent to Olmsted Beach.
