Millions of dollars are spent spent by Albertans gambling on-line, and the Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission think the province could put some of that cash to good use.
AGLC President Bill Robinson right now online gambling revenue is going to “Grey Market” sites, or companies that base their operations overseas.
“What we estimate is about $120 Million or more is played every year” he says, “and by creating an opportunity here in Alberta, those dollars that now float away off-shore can stay in Alberta can be used by charities, can be used by our Government for great programs right across the province.”
