The Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission is planning to introduce vending machines in casinos and gaming entertainment centres. But instead of snacks, the vending machines will sell scratch tickets.
During the one-year pilot project in partnership with the Western Canada Lottery Corporation, 20 instant-ticket vending machines will be installed in Calgary and Edmonton. The machines are self-serve, cash-only and require purchasers to scan the bar code on their driver’s licence to verify their age.
“The AGLC’s job is to ensure Albertans have the best options to consider when spending their entertainment dollar,” said commission president and CEO Bill Robinson in a news release.
