B.C. Hydro has received two new enforcement orders from the province’s Environmental Assessment Office related to construction problems on the controversial Site C dam on the Peace River. The two orders concern waste-management violations, including a requirement of Hydro’s environmental certificate “to control and clean up leaks and spills of hydrocarbon material,” according to EAO inspection documents. A June report by senior compliance and enforcement officer Chris Parks concluded that “measures are required to ensure adverse effects to soil and water quality are adequately mitigated.” He ordered Hydro to:
