A distribution facility in St. Albert is the central point where almost all of Alberta’s booze starts its journey.
The ceilings are 33.5 metres tall, with stacks of beer, spirits and wine piled up in seemingly endless rows.
The walls of Connect Logistics Services Inc., a private company contracted by the government, house more than three million cases of liquor; every drop that crosses into Alberta, except for domestic beer.
The government-run Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission oversees the distribution centre, establishes its policies and authorizes the operations of Connect.
