MLA slams proposed rate hike from ICBC

NDP MLA Mabel Elmore is against a proposed 5.2 per cent increase in basic insurance rates announced Tuesday by ICBC.

In a brief news release, ICBC said the increase would result in an average premium hike of $3 per month.

But with ICBC profitable last year and predicted to be making money again this year, Elmore doesn’t want to see insurance rates change at all.
