Regulators extend comment period for national securities regulator scheme

The five provinces who have so far announced their participation in the federal government’s cooperative capital markets regulator project have extended the comment period on the proposed implementing legislation to Dec. 8, 2014.

Ontario, British Columbia, New Brunswick, Saskatchewan and Prince Edward Island had originally set Nov. 7 as the deadline for consultation on the draft Provincial Capital Markets Act and Capital Markets Stability Act.
