Support for BCE’s efforts to overturn CRTC Internet access ruling gains momentum

A wave of support for BCE Inc. and its rare request that federal cabinet revoke a landmark network access ruling flooded the mailbox of Canada’s top public servant in December.

The Canadian Radio-Television and telecommunications Commission ruling requires Internet providers to allow competitors to purchase to their high-speed networks built wit fibre-optic cables, which they can use to then sell services. In respect, Bell threatened to defer, shelve and stop upgrades to its network.
