TransCanada says it plans to file an application with the National Energy Board (NEB) on April 26, 2017 seeking approval for new long term fixed price service on its Mainline to Dawn, Ontario from Empress Alberta.
The application follows the company’s successful second try at doing a deal to secure increased natural gas shipping volumes by reducing tolls.
The large legacy market in Eastern Canada has been increasingly saturated with U.S. production, but producers were not using full system capacity due to high transportation costs.
