The 4 were arrested and charged with selling e-liquid nicotine to people under 21, police say.
Four people were arrested and charged on Monday night after an investigation found they sold e-liquid nicotine to minors, Suffolk County police said.
The following individuals were arrested and charged with unlawfully dealing with a child, police said:
- Kenny Rubio, 26, of Brentwood, employed at Island Hookah, located at 291 West Main St., in Sayville.
- Silvia Landaverve, 37, of Uniondale, employed at Pop Smoke Shop, located at 1709 Montauk Hwy. in Bellport.
- Md Shawn, 29, of Patchogue, employed at Conoco gas station, located at 626 Route 112 in Medford.
- Mohammad Iqubel ,29, of Elmont, employed at Valero gas station, located at 255 Main St. in West Sayville.
The investigation took place between 7 p.m. and 10 p.m., and was conducted in response to community complaints, police said.
The clerks were issued field appearance tickets and are scheduled to appear in First District Court in Central in Islip on June 24.
