Disney warns regulations could threaten its place in Canadian television

The Walt Disney Co. doesn’t want to pull out of Canadian television, but it will have to re-evaluate the business case for staying if regulations become too burdensome, vice-president Susan Fox warned on Monday.

Ms. Fox appeared before a Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission hearing to discuss the future of television in the age of increased competition from online video providers like Netflix Inc. Ms. Fox discussed the impact the CRTC’s proposals would have on Disney, which owns ABC.
