West Kelowna wants more agriculture in Westbank

West Kelowna city council has approved a plan intended to encourage diversification and expansion of the agricultural industry in the Westbank Centre area. The Westbank Centre Agricultural Plan encompasses eight parcels of land, seven of which are currently in the provincial Agricultural Land Reserve. The city says it wants to achieve a common vision based on synergies identified between the objectives of agricultural property owners, the community and the Agricultural Land Commission and the desired outcome of the plan is to see renewed productivity of fallow lands.
