Under the glare of an incessant spotlight, British Columbia’s farmed-salmon industry is readying for another long hot summer of protest and occupation. It’s become a ritual, as perennial as the salmon harvest itself. But after three decades of ardent opposition: Will the industry survive another summer? Or more importantly, is there a stable future ahead?

Much of the answer depends on the quality of the science that purports to prove farmed-salmon presents a clear and present danger to wild salmon stocks. Or, whether it is suspect science with an agenda.
