An overhaul of the province’s Agricultural Land Reserve is turning into a “complete railroad job” that’s being overwhelmed by people from southern B.C., says a Liberal MLA and former agriculture minister.
Pat Pimm, MLA for Peace River North, said in an email obtained by The Sun he’s worried his own government’s consultation process for proposed changes to the ALR won’t accurately reflect the position of some farmers and producers in the North, Kootenay and Interior regions.
At issue are many of the details that the provincial government has yet to decide on how its new Agricultural Land Reserve legislation will work.
