FSRA forms new committee to reform the auto insurance system in Ontario

Date:

The Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario (FSRA) welcomes 15 new members to its Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) for Auto Rates and Underwriting Regulation Reform (ARURR).

The purpose of this reform is to make auto insurance rates and underwriting fairer, promote regulatory efficiency and help consumers make better and more informed decisions.

The new TAC members were selected after a public call for applications based on their professional experience, knowledge of relevant issues, representation across the sector and diversity criteria.

“We will be looking to these new committee members to provide us with expert insight and advice on ways to reform the regulation of auto insurance rates and underwriting in Ontario, which is critically important work,” said Tim Bzowey, Executive Vice President for Auto Insurance Products at FSRA. “We strongly believe these advancements will lead to an auto insurance system that is more effective, transparent and fairer for consumers.”

We would like to thank all who applied and showed interest in collaborating with FSRA on this exciting work. View committee membership list.

FSRA continues to work on behalf of all stakeholders, including consumers, to ensure financial safety, fairness, and choice for everyone.
