IIROC study of high frequency trading – phase III – publication of final academic paper

IIROC is publishing the second of two academic papers prepared by the fourth academic team selected by IIROC to assess the impact of high frequency trading (HFT) and related activity on Canadian equity markets. This marks the final publication of IIROC’s HFT study.

On December 12, 2012, IIROC published its HOT Study, which summarizes the results of Phases I and II. On May 2, 2013, IIROC published a Request for Assistance (“RFA”) for Phase III of its Study of High Frequency Trading Activity on Canadian Equity Marketplaces (the “HFT Study”).
