When Regulatorwatch.com began operations last spring, the first segment on the cutting edge website was a close look at the much-publicized comments on the risk residents of Vancouver and Howe Sound face if the liquefied natural gas (LNG) industry gets the regulatory authority to start up business in the region.
Activists were often quoted in the media preaching doom and gloom if the LNG plant proposed for the Squamish area went ahead.
But a closer analysis of the campaign led Regulatorwatch.com founder Brent Stafford to start debunking some of the so-called facts being disseminated by anti-LNG activists.
There were deceptions in an effort to create fear about LNG carriers going through Howe Sound, said Stafford, who since 1988 has been a B.C.-based journalist.
