CORONAVIRUS could be caught from someone vaping near you as Dr Chris Smith explained: “If you can smell it, you could catch the virus from it.
Coronavirus has infected more than 3,000 people in the UK and resulted in 240 deaths as Prime Minister Boris Johnson has urged people to self-isolate for the sake of their own health and other people’s. But Dr Chris Smith has warned how close one person can be to catch the virus as he used the smells of vapes as an example. He noted he could smell blueberry vape from two cars away on the road as he said the airflow can blow the virus in the same direction.
Speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live, Dr Smith said: “While the vape itself isn’t a risk is that what you are seeing and smelling is the fine particles and molecules that have come out and they’re going up your nose.
“You can smell them because they’re activating nerve pathways at the top of your nose.
“They’re nonetheless a proxy for the air that that person has breathed out it going.
“If there were virus particles in there, they could well have been carried by the same air currents that have drifted along and blown the smoke to you, they could well have blown the virus to you.
