Survey finds too much trust leads to unquestioning investment approach

Most investors know what they should be doing to make sure they are looking after the investments they hold, but many don’t do those things because they trust that their advisers are looking out for them, according to new research from the B.C. Securities Commission.

Some 58 per cent of investors surveyed agreed it is up to them to find out how much their adviser is paid, but only 40 per cent asked the question more than once.
