Canada knows good kids’ TV — alongside maple syrup and hockey, Canadian children’s television is one of the country’s greatest cultural exports.
From an early version of Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood, which made its debut on CBC in 1963, to the animated series Arthur and the many iterations of Degrassi, Canadian productions have been viewed in homes around the globe.
“In Canada, what we have here is a tremendous and rich history of kids’ content production,” says Vince Commisso, founder and CEO for the Toronto-based animation studio 9 Story.
