AHA Claims That Young Vapers Have a 15% Higher Risk of Stroke Than Smokers

In what will be considered shocking claims to the countless tobacco control researchers who have long studied and compared the risks of vaping versus those of smoking, the American Heart Association (AHA) is now claiming that new findings indicate that while strokes were more prevalent among smokers, vapers had a 15% higher risk of having a stroke at a younger age.

AHA researchers examined National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey from 2015 to 2018, looking at data from 79,825 adults with a history of stroke who used traditional cigarettes or e-cigarettes. Among the participants, 7,756 (9.72%) used e-cigarettes; 48,625 (60.91%) used traditional cigarettes; and 23,444 (39.37%) used both.

The research team reported that although smokers were more likely to suffer from stroke, vapers had a 15% higher risk of having a stroke at a younger age.
