GFN Ukraine Update

Date:

The Global Forum on Nicotine conference organisers have released a statement with reference to the situation in Ukraine.

The Global Forum on Nicotine is set to take place in Warsaw, Poland, 16 – 18 June 2022. Organisers issued the statement on Wednesday 9, March 2022.

Global Forum on Nicotine organisers said: “We are closely monitoring the war in Ukraine, and its impacts.

“Our team, many of whom live in Poland, have friends and colleagues in Ukraine, giving us all a deep connection to the situation. As you will know, over one million refugees have already arrived in Poland. They are being accommodated and supported with the help of the Polish authorities, the Polish people, and aid from around the world.

“While reviewing the situation regularly, for now we believe that continuing with our preparations for the Global Forum on Nicotine in June is the best course of action, and we are planning for the delivery of a successful event.

“Of course, we understand the uncertainty the situation will be causing among our conference guests and exhibitors. We would therefore like to assure you that we will be flexible. If the need arises and the event has to be cancelled, we will be ready to return fees paid or transfer them over to next year’s event.”

Organisers are still looking for submissions for the GFN Fives – more details can be found in the link below. #GFNFives are five-minute films on nicotine science, policy and advocacy matters, a replacement for poster presentations, and organisers are keen for vapers to submit their own clips.
