Trouble brewing on Edmonton beer front

This guy walks into a bar and asks, “Hey, have you heard about inducements?” and suddenly nobody’s talking but everybody’s got an opinion.

As many in the food and beverage industry know, inducements are the illegal incentives liquor suppliers offer bars and restaurants to carry their products.

Provincial laws prohibit them across Canada. In Alberta, the Gaming and Liquor Act and associated regulations detail the numerous things liquor suppliers and pub owners cannot do for or with each other, under pain of financial penalty to both parties.
