The National Energy Board has accepted an application for a 40-year export licence for the Woodfibre LNG project, the company has announced.
If approved, the licence would allow the export of approximately two million tonnes of liquefied natural gas per year for 40 years. The project received a 25-year licence in 2013, but the maximum term was increased to 40 years in 2015.
Woodfibre LNG said the commitments it made in its environmental assessment certificate application, and the regulatory conditions, plans and permits required for construction and operation of the Woodfibre LNG project, will remain in effect for the life of the project.
